"GREEN" is the new buzz word.

At GDMS we make every effort to be as conscious about the environment as we are about delivering you the best possible service.  Below are just a few of the many things we do to help in protecting our precious environment.

In 2008 we replaced all light fixtures with brighter, more energy efficient lighting. Not only was there a substantial energy savings, but it also provided a much better working environment for our employees. To see the case study, click here.

We recycle our toner and inkjet cartridges with a local company. The money from recycling these cartridges produces revenue for many different non-profit organizations to help meet their financial needs.

Electronic distribution of invoices to our customers for services rendered. Eliminates approximately 6200 printed pages per year reducing paper, toner, printer and distribution system usage.

Electronic distribution of customer reports. This is used extensively today for most of our customers external reports as well as internal reporting.  This process eliminates over 150,000 printed pages annually.

We print numerous customers' mailings on recycled paper.

We recycle approximately 100,000 lbs of cardboard, 110,000 lbs of white paper and 30,000 lbs of other stock annually.

We also recycle approximately 3,000 wooden pallets annually.

Things you can do to help the environment and
possibly save you money too.

List Hygiene: Millions of Americans change their address each year. To ensure your mail reaches your customer,  you should process your lists through the United States Postal Service® National Change Of Address (NCOA).

Another waste of materials, time and money is duplicate addresses or addresses that do not meet the postal standards which could make them undeliverable. Have your list run through software that will eliminate duplicates and clean the addresses.

Targeted Mail: Instead of mailing to the masses, be more specific about the people you are mailing to. You want your mail to read by the recipient, not discarded because it is of no interest to them.

Form Design: Reevaluate your mail piece. Does that mail piece have a lot of 'white space' or unimportant information? Maybe that legal size mail piece could be done letter size or smaller. Decreasing the size of your mail piece reduces waste, forms cost and possibly save you money in postage.

We are here to help. If you would like more information about the above or want to discuss other ways, please contact us.
